Garhmukteshwar ( Hindi गढ़मुक्तेश्वर Gaṛhmukteśvar ) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Garhmukteshwar is located in the north Indian plain on the west bank of the Ganges 85 km east of the federal capital New Delhi . The city is located in the district of Hapur 30 km east of the district capital Hapur . The national highway NH 24 ( Ghaziabad - Moradabad ) runs through the city.
Garhmukteshwar has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad as a city . The city is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Garhmukteshwar had 46,077 inhabitants.
