Hapur is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
Hapur is located in the North Indian Plain, 55 km east of New Delhi . The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name founded at the end of 2011 .
The national highways NH 24 ( Ghaziabad - Moradabad ) and NH 235 ( Meerut - Bulandshahr ) cross at Hapur. The city is a rail hub with connections to Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bulandshahr and Moradabad.
As a city, Hapur has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . It is divided into 32 wards . At the 2011 census, Hapur had 262,983 inhabitants.
