Garin de Montaigu (also Guerinus de Monteacuto, Garnius de Mounteagu ) was a nobleman from Montaigut-en-Combraille in the Auvergne and from 1207 to 1227/28 the 14th Grand Master of the Order of St. John .

In his time there was a very good relationship with the Knights Templar . There his brother Pierre / Pedro de Montaigu was grand master from 1219–1232. He helped the Kingdom of Lesser Armenia against the Rum Seljuks (Sultanate of Iconium).

Garin de Montaigu refused to participate in the Albigensian crusade against the Cathars .

Under his leadership, the Order participated in the Fifth Crusade against the Ayyubids .
