Geoffrey le Rat (German Gottfried , Latin: Gothofiedus Mus ; † 1207 ) was the 13th Grand Master of the Order of St. John from 1206 until his death .

He was castellan of Krak des Chevaliers at least since 1204 , when he was elected Grand Master in 1206. Presumably he was a French from the Touraine , in any case a noble family is documented there, which had the surname "le Rat" (Eng. "The rat").

He was a supporter of his predecessor Alfonse de Portugal , who had resigned from office due to internal disputes, and continued his efforts to restore discipline in the order.

Geoffrey divided the order, which had grown steadily, into national groups. From this the system of the order with national associations, called tongues, developed . The tongues were again divided into priories and these into balleien , to which the coming were subordinate.

He died in the summer of 1207.
