Irmgard Mannlein-Robert

Irmgard Männlein-Robert (born February 2, 1970 in Ansbach ) is a German classical philologist .

From 1989 to 1996 she studied Greek, Latin and German at the University of Würzburg as well as at University College London and Royal Holloway College . She then continued her studies until 1995/96 (until the first state examination in all three subjects). From 1997 to 2000 she was a PhD scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . For her dissertation, with which she completed her doctorate in Würzburg in 2000, she received the award of the Lower Franconian Memorial Year Foundation. From 2000 to 2006 she was a research assistant for Greek studies in Würzburg. She interrupted this activity for several research stays: in 2002 and 2003 she was at the Fondation Hardt in Vandœuvres , in 2003 she was Margo Tytus Visiting Scholar at the University of Cincinnati . In 2004 she received a travel grant from the University of Würzburg for her habilitation project Voice, Writing and Image: The Relationship between the Arts in Hellenistic Poetry . In November 2005 she completed her habilitation. In 2006 she received a post-habil grant on the subject of ancient self-epitaphs as part of the Bavarian HWP program.

Since October 2006 she has been a full professor for Greek Philology at the University of Tübingen . She is co-founder and organizer of the "Tübinger Platon-Tage", which have been taking place every two years in Tübingen since 2008. In 2016 she became a full member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences .

Irmgard Männlein-Robert has been married to the German specialist Jörg Robert since 2000 . She has a son (born 2005).
