Garrett MacNeill (born June 3, 1981 in Niagara Falls , Ontario ) is a former Canadian - Irish ice hockey player who took part in a total of six World Championship tournaments in Divisions II and III for Ireland .

Career

Garrett MacNeill began his career in his Canadian homeland with the Thorold Blackhawks from the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. From 2000 to 2005 he played for the team of Manhattenville College in the third division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association , where he reached the final with the university team in 2002 and 2003, which was lost to the team at Elmira College. In 2005 he moved to Europe, where he played with the Association des Sports de Glace de Tours in Division 2 , the third highest division in France, where he was promoted to Division 1 as a champion . Despite this success, he moved to Ireland to the Flyers Ice Hockey Club . After only one year on the Irish island, he moved back to Canada in 2007, where he played for the Toronto Blazers. He last played for the Burlington Canadiens in 2010/11.

International

MacNeill played for Ireland in the Division II World Championships in 2008 and 2011 and Division III in 2004 , 2005 , 2006 when he was the tournament's best preparer, and 2007 .
