Gary Green (born November 20, 1950 in Stroud Green , England ) is a British musician. He plays guitar , mandolin , bass , drums , xylophone and sings.

Life

Green was the lead guitarist of the progressive rock band Gentle Giant from 1970 to 1980 , incorporating styles from the blues into their music.

From 1983 to 1989 he played in a band called Blind Dates with drummer Albert Hurst and in the group Big Hello . After he left the band, he produced an album with Paul Adams .

He later played in a power pop band called The Elvis Brothers , but their style was in no way similar to Gentle Giant's.

In September 1995 he traveled to the Marechiaro Blues Festival with the band Divae . There they played the Gentle Giant pieces The Boys in the Band and The Return of The Giant ( Italian : Il retorno del Gigante Gentile ).

Billy Sherwood (formerly Yes , World Trade , Circa:) , who after the departure of his partner, Yes bassist Chris Squire, will continue the Conspiracy project on his own, has Gary Green as a guest musician for a new Conspiracy album in early 2007 brought on board.

Today Green lives a little way from Chicago in Illinois in the USA .
