Gary Valente

Gary Valente (born June 26, 1953 in Worcester (Massachusetts) ) is an American trombonist of modern creative jazz .

Live and act

After completing his studies, Valente worked primarily with Carla Bley (until 1996) and was also involved with her band on Nick Mason's album " Fictitious Sports " (1981). In 1982, he worked in the Liberation Music Orchestra of Charlie Haden with, with whom he also on the Berlin Jazz Festival occurred. He also played with Ed Schuller , but also with George Russell , Joe Lovano , George Gruntz , Andy Sheppard , Lester Bowie , Gato Barbieri , Paquito D'Rivera , Jean-Marie Machado , Matt Manieri and the "Jazz Warriors". Together with his colleagues Ray Anderson , Craig Harris and George Lewis he formed the a cappella trombone quartet "Slideride".
