Gastón Filgueira , full name Gastón Filgueira Méndez , (born January 8, 1986 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.73 meter tall defensive player Filgueira was part of the squad of the Montevideo-based club Central Español at the beginning of his career in the Clausura 2006 and the Apertura 2006 and played 28 games (no goal) in the Primera División during this period . In 2007 he was for the team of the Argentine club Arsenal de Sarandí in six games (no goal) of the local Primera División on the field. During his club membership, the club won the Copa Sudamericana 2007 . In late December 2007 he joined Nacional Montevideo .
