Gasthof Zum Schusterjungen

The Gasthof Zum Schusterjungen is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 08944 .

The building at Nikolaistraße 12 in Weißenfels is an inn . The inn, at that time still under number 10, was first mentioned in 1552. For several centuries it was called Roland. In the 20th century the name of the inn changed and the new owners named it after themselves. In 1955, the restaurant became the HO Gaststätte Zum Schusterjungen. The name Schusterjunge is an allusion to the sculpture Schusterjunge by the sculptor Paul Juckoff .

The portal of the building was in the style of the Renaissance made with a seating niche. The building is two-story and has a bat dormer roof . Inside the building, stucco and plank ceilings have been preserved, which have been classified as extraordinarily interesting in terms of art history by the monument office .
