Gasthof zur Post (Benediktbeuern)
The Gasthof zur Post in Benediktbeuern , a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen , was built in 1517. The inn at Dorfplatz 1 is a protected monument .
The two-storey elongated flat gable roof building was expanded in the 18th century and changed inside in 1802. The ten-axis building formed the south wing of an extensive complex. After 1950 the west wing was replaced by the great hall and a medieval vault was exposed in the cellar . The fresco with the wagon on the main facade was renewed in 1987.
The inn was the oldest and most important tavern of the Benediktbeuern monastery and originally also the seat of the judge.
