Gauliga Upper Silesia 1941/42
Venues of the Gauliga Oberschlesien 1942/43.

The Gauliga Oberschlesien 1942/43 (officially: Sports Area Class Oberschlesien 1942/43 ) was the second season of the Gauliga Oberschlesien of the football department . Once again the Gauliga was played with ten teams in a round-robin tournament with a return leg. The newly promoted LSV Adler Tarnowitz initially dominated the Gauliga. TuS Hindenburg 09 was defeated 10: 0, 1. FC Kattowitz 17: 1 and forward lawn sport Gleiwitz 3: 0 . After seven game days, Tarnowitz led the table unbeaten with 12: 2 points and 48: 5 goals. On November 18, 1942, a press release about a “sensational turn” in the league appeared completely surprising under the heading “The eagles are no longer there”: The club had “withdrawn its team from the championship”. The following day, citing the football department, the press announced that all of the club's games would not be counted. Thus, at the end of the FV Germania Königshütte was able to secure its second championship title and thus qualified for the German football championship 1942/43 , in which the team already in the first round after a narrow 3: 4 home defeat after extra time against the Lower Silesian representative LSV Reinecke Brieg left. In addition to Tarnowitz, TuS Hindenburg 09 descended. The SC Preußen Hindenburg and the Reichsbahn SG Kattowitz rose from the 1st class .
