The Gauliga Oberschlesien 1941/42 (officially: Sports Area Class Oberschlesien 1941/42 ) was the first season of the Gauliga Oberschlesien of the football department . Due to the war, some Gauligen were subdivided in order to save fuel and transport capacity, including the Gauliga Schlesien , which was divided into the Gauliga Lower Silesia and the Gauliga Upper Silesia from this season onwards. In this league the teams from the eastern area of ​​the previous Gauliga Silesia were divided, six teams from the Gauliga season 1940/41 and four promoted teams from the district classes competed against each other. FV Germania Königshütte secured the championship with a three point lead over Bismarckhütter SV 99 . Königshütte qualified for the final round of the German championship and, after a bye in the first round, reached the round of 16, which was lost 1-0 to First Vienna FC 1894 . The relegation ranks occupied the Reichsbahn SG Myslowitz and the SC Preußen Hindenburg . WSG Sportfreunde Knurow and LSV Adler Tarnowitz rose from the district leagues .
