The WSG Sportfreunde Knurow was a football club from the city of Knurów in occupied Poland during the Second World War .
history
In the 1941/42 season , the WSG rose from 2nd to 1st class in Upper Silesia . In the Division 1 incorporated, the team achieved in their first season already with 34: 6 points in first place of the table. As a result, the team qualified for the promotion round and then finished it with 15: 5 points in first place. Due to this place, the club was allowed to move up to the Gauliga Oberschlesien next season . In this season the team reached third place in the table with 19:13 points after 16 games. After the 1943/44 season , the club had 16:20 points after 18 games and was thus placed in sixth place. After that, however, the team withdrew from the Gauliga. It is not known whether the team took part in a lower class game again afterwards. With the surrender of the German Reich at the end of the Second World War and the annexation of Upper Silesia by the Soviet Union , the association was then dissolved at the latest.
