history

The two-storey plastered representative building from 1900 with a distinctive Baroque- style gable bay window was built in the style of historicism ( neo-baroque ) with a gable top as a gable flower according to plans by Rudolph Glocke as a residential building for the hotelier Roloff Siebers. The rich stucco decorations on the facade and inside in the French-influenced neo-rococo style have not been changed.

The house is used today (2020) for administrative purposes (law firm and a broker).

The architect Rudolph Glocke also designed the houses Alter Deichweg 17, Am Seedeich 5, Bahnhofstrasse 14, Catharinenstrasse 22, Cuxhavener Strasse 103 and Kleine Hardewiek 2 in Cuxhaven.

The buildings on Deichstrasse 5 to 8 , 9 , 10 , 12A , 13a , 20 and 40 are also under monument protection; No. 12 was no  longer protected as a historical monument.
