The Gebirgsinfanteriebrigade 12 (Geb Inf Br 12) was an association of the Swiss Army .
The brigade was founded in 2003 as part of the army reform Army XXI , as the successor to the disbanded Mountain Division 12 (Geb Div 12), the Territorial Brigade 12 (Ter Br 12) and the Fortress Brigade 13 (Fest Br 13). The peacekeeping location of the brigade staff was in Chur , the capital of the canton of Graubünden .
It consisted of the following formations:
- Staff Geb Inf Br 12
- FU Bat 12
- Geb S Bat 6
- Inf Bat 65
- Inf Bat 70
- Give Inf Bat 77
- Geb Inf Bat 85
The brigade was last led by Brigadier Peter Baumgartner . He was the successor to Brigadier Franz Nager , who took command on January 1, 2012 from Corps Commander Aldo C. Schellenberg (July 1, 2010 - December 31, 2011).
In 2011 the Fest Art Abt 13 was dissolved. The Mountain Infantry Brigade 12 was disbanded on January 1, 2018 as part of the further development of the army .
