Tallmadge is a city in Summit County and Portage Counties in Ohio , United States . It is a suburb of Akron and statistically part of the Akron metropolitan area. Tallmadge was founded in 1807 and is the second oldest town in Summit County, after Hudson , which was founded in 1799.
The place is named after Benjamin Tallmadge , a colonel in the Continental Army and a member of the House of Representatives of the United States .
