Gecko Keck

Gecko Keck (born November 1967 in Stuttgart ), actually Gerhard Wörner, is a Stuttgart artist , designer and author . He contributed to the model development of the surprise eggs at Ferrero .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1987, he worked as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist for various newspapers. From 1989 he had a permanent position at Motor Presse Verlag Stuttgart as a graphic designer, illustrator and comic artist. During this time he developed his own booklet concepts and took part in various exhibitions in the Stuttgart area. In 1993 the step into self-employment took place again and he worked as a freelance artist and designer.

In 1996, Gecko Keck began designing toys for surprise eggs for the Italian confectionery manufacturer Ferrero, producing a total of over 5000 drawings and 300 models. By 2004 he had developed around 40% percent of the content, of which there are an estimated 8 billion copies worldwide. In 1993 Gecko Keck started working as a toy developer for Schleich GmbH. In 1996, Keck's own art gallery with paintings and sculptures was opened.

In 2005 he founded Kieselsteiner Verlag. Since 2004 he has been doing product designs for Nestlé , Milka , Küchle and others and has developed confectionery products for wholesalers in Europe, Australia and the USA. In 2007 he developed the official mascot Wasi, the Wasenhasi , for the Cannstatter Volksfest , and in 2013 the female counterpart.

From 2007 Gecko Keck published numerous books, both in TOPP Verlag and in his own Kieselsteiner Verlag, including the creative book series "Werkstattraw" and the children's book bestsellers "Bayala - the daughters of the Elf King" and "Sajana - the legacy of the Elf King"

Gerhard Wörner, alias Gecko Keck is married to Leila Wörner. They have two daughters.

Gerhard Wörner / Gecko Keck is committed to the Deutsche KinderKrebshilfe Foundation and the Christoph Sonntag Foundation with the book Pias Traum . A well-known team of authors has come together: from Gecko Keck, Alfred Biolek , Lothar Hasl, to Hans-Peter Grandl, Hansy Vogt , Hansi Müller, Sascha Zeus and Michael Wirbitzky , Ursula Cantieni , Marcus Christen, to Wulf Wager and Andreas Läsker , Josefine Maier, Christoph Sonntag (cabaret artist) and Pia-Marie Wörner. They all contributed little stories or fantasy stories. The entire proceeds of the book will go to the foundation and the German Children's Cancer Aid. The first proceeds were paid out to both organizations in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
