Memorial stone for the uprising of Schleswig-Holstein (Blankenese)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The memorial stone for the uprising of Schleswig-Holstein in Hamburg-Blankenese is a boulder with a coat of arms relief and engraved gold-plated script, which reminds of the Schleswig-Holstein uprising . It is located on a small green area next to a double oak (the symbol of striving for an eternally unedited land) on Blankeneser Bahnhofsstraße. The double oak was donated by the communal association for the 50th anniversary of the survey in 1898, and the memorial stone was placed by the community two years later.

Since February 12, 2007, both the memorial stone and the oak are under monument protection .

Blankenese was (since 1640) under Danish administration in the Duchy of Holstein , which - in contrast to Schleswig - also belonged to the German Confederation . The survey marked the beginning of the (first) German-Danish war on March 24, 1848, which was sparked by the Schleswig-Holstein question .

On the village squares in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel and Hamburg-Bramfeld , memorial stones also commemorate the elevation.

During the Gulf War in 1991, the Blankenese artist Andrea Peschel erected a memorial for peace and non-violence next to the memorial on her own initiative . A soldier who breaks a rifle above his knee and was also called a deserters memorial . The list was subsequently approved by the district office. In 1999 the rifle of the sculpture disappeared, whereupon donations were collected for a renovation, but they were not enough. After the figure finally disappeared completely in 2005, the artist could no longer be won over for a new memorial and the plans for a counter-monument by another artist also failed.
