Against the storm! is a German television film from 2014 . The disaster drama with Alexandra Neldel and Hannes Jaenicke in the leading roles tells of an international group of doctors who help people to rebuild in a crisis area. The film will premiere on November 4, 2014 on Sat.1 .

The physician Dr. Sophie Heimbach is supported by her former mentor Dr. Ursula Stein asked to travel to Sumatra to do her first foreign assignment there. The country was struck by a severe earthquake and now needs the help of the aid organization "Medicines Without Borders". Sophie was assigned to assist surgeon Dr. To keep an eye on Matthias Kreusler because he is suspected of misappropriating donations and medicines.
When Sophie arrives in Sumatra, she is not exactly welcomed by the arrogant Matthias. He doesn't trust her that she, who was only used to university operations so far, can assert herself in the camp or that she is able to make decisions about life and death. But Sophie shows everyone that she will stop at nothing and supports the camp wherever she can. Over time, Sophie and Matthias get closer. But drugs and bandages are becoming increasingly scarce. Then the next medical aid delivery also gets stuck at customs. Sophie watches as Matthias meets with the leader of the rebels and then doubts his loyalty. When she tries to confront him, the area is shaken by an aftershock.

The feature film is a production by TeamWorx Television & Film GmbH in coproduction with UFA Fiction GmbH for the television station Sat.1 . Alexandra Neldel and Hannes Jaenicke , who also privately support aid organizations, could be engaged as the main actors . The shooting took place from July 11th to August 7th, 2013 in Thailand under the working title Klinik unter Planen .
The film is based on a treatment by the main actor Hannes Jaenicke. Following the feature film, the documentary You are Heroes! Hannes Jaenicke meets doctors in the crisis area broadcast.

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv thinks that "Jaenicke & Neldel would make a convincing couple in their first film together" and that the film is an "sometimes captivating mix of adventure and doctor drama", "but a bit too much many genre keys are mixed together ”.
