Site plan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The terrain or contour plan is a detailed graphic representation of the terrain in plan . It shows the terrain (the natural surface of the earth) in the form of contour lines (previously often also in vertical hatches ), supplemented by details such as the edges of the terrain , embankments and the water network .

Exact site plans are created by terrestrial surveying (topographical recording) of the location or by measuring aerial photographs . Depending on the intended use, they have scales from 1: 500 to 1: 5000. The larger scales are rare and generally serve as the basis for construction projects . Scales around 1: 5000 are already the transition to the basic (Germany) or basic map (Austria), the i. d. R. photogrammetry is made. Even smaller scales such as 1: 10,000 or 1: 25,000, on the other hand, are already referred to as a topographic map .
