The mixed choir Bassum from 1881 is a choral society in the Lower Saxon town of Bassum . He belongs to the district group Klosterbach-Delme in the district choir association Diepholz. The choral society is a member of the Lower Saxony-Bremen Choir Association , which in turn functions under the umbrella of the German Choir Association .

The repertoire of the mixed choir mainly comprises 3- and 4-part choral movements in German. Daniela Predescu has been the choir director since 2004.

history

The choir was founded in 1881. During the Second World War , the choir was almost entirely a female choir . At the end of the war, the club's activity ceased entirely. In 1949 there was a new beginning with over 60 active singers. In 1981 the choir celebrated its 100th anniversary. In 1982, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary, the " Zelter plaque " (named after Carl Friedrich Zelter (1758–1832) - founder of the first Liedertafel and director of the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin ) was awarded by senior district director Heise . In 2006 the choir celebrated its 125th anniversary. Today he performs under the name Mixed Choir Bassum from 1881 .

The choir sings every year as part of a municipal senior citizens' party (in December) for senior citizens in the city of Bassum. He also regularly takes part in regional choir meetings. In addition, socializing is maintained. For many years this has included a day trip with a sightseeing program, a barbecue evening before the summer break and a Christmas party in December.
