Gene Polito
Gene Polito (actually Eugene Emmanuel Polito , born September 13, 1918 in Brooklyn , † November 28, 2010 in Irvine , California ) was an American cameraman .
Life
Polito was the son of cameraman Sol Polito who worked for Warner Brothers and grew up on the west coast of the United States. He attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles and graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in engineering; in this profession he also worked for Douglas Aircraft during the war .
Long after the Second World War , in 1959, he followed in his father's footsteps and worked for forty years as a cameraman for film productions and, above all, for television; he was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers . In 1980 he became a professor at the School of Cinematic Arts at his university. He finished this last job at the age of seventy.
