General auditor

The general auditor (general auditor) was in some armies the head of the military justice administration (e.g. in Prussia), in others only the highest rank of the auditors , i.e. H. of the military justice officers (e.g. in Austria-Hungary ).

In Prussia the general auditor presided over the general auditor of the Prussian army .

In Austria-Hungary there were five general auditors during peacetime, one of whom was a head of the fourth department of the Reich Ministry of War , while three were department heads and consultants at the Supreme Military Court and one was a chancellery director and consultant at the military court . In addition, the Landwehrobergericht of the Royal Hungarian Landwehr had one general auditor as the office director and seven auditors as speakers (see kuk military justice system ).

In the Swiss military justice system , supervision is ensured by the chief auditor (abbreviation: OA). This holds the degree of a brigadier (Art. 17 Abs. 2 MStP).
