Geng Huichang
Gěng Huìchāng ( 耿惠昌 , * 1951 ) is a former Minister for State Security of the People's Republic of China .
Geng Huichang is from Hebei Province . In 1985 he was deputy director of the "State Institute for International Relations" and from 1990 to 1995 director. It is alleged that he was the author of a 1993 book on international trade. In 1998 he became Deputy Director of State Security and was involved in security preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games . From August 2007 to 2016 he was Minister for State Security. Since then he has been a member of various commissions in the Central Committee and in the Political Consultative Conference of the Chinese People .
He is an expert on the United States and Japan and on trade and economic intelligence . Geng Huichang is a member of the 17th CCP Central Committee from 2007.
