Geo. F. Trumper on Curzon Street .

Geo. F. Trumper is a barber , barber shop and perfumery in London and was in the late 19th century by George Trumper a business in Curzon Street 9 in Mayfair founded. Today Geo. F. Trumper has two locations the original store on Curzon Street and a second on Duke of York Street in London called St. James's Shop.

Geo. F. Trumper is one of the oldest and most renowned barbershops in London, numerous travel guides for London recommend a visit to the barber when visiting London. His customers include or were u. a. Boris Johnson , Fred Astaire , Sir Winston Churchill and numerous other celebrities. Even Ian Fleming was a client of Trumper and mentioned Trumpers scent "Eucris" in the James Bond -novel "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Torsten Körner describes in his book "Probeliegen: Tales of Death" pointedly and slightly ironically the meaning of geo. F. Trumpers for "British Gentlemen's Shave".

Trumper sells shaving cosmetics such as shaving soaps and shaving creams , many aftershaves and eau de toilette as well as a small selection of men's equipment.

criticism

In his book "Advertising Culture and Translation: From Colonial to Global" Renato Tomei criticizes Geo as an example. F. Trumpers, the outdated colonial and imperialist marketing strategies of certain English companies. This is how Geo advertises. F. Trumpers launched his "Limes" fragrance series with references to a change in packaging to pink paper instead of the classic color green for lime fragrances caused by bottlenecks in World War I.
