Geoff Knorr

Geoff Knorr (born June 13, 1985 in Framingham , Massachusetts ) is an American video game composer .

Life

Knorr was born in Framingham , Massachusetts and grew up in Maritta , Georgia . At a young age he took piano and cello courses. In eighth grade he composed his first piece of music. He studied composition with Christopher Theofanidis and Michael Hersch and collected arts and sciences at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore , Maryland .

Knorr first caught the attention of the Firaxis sound team when he was preparing to record the choir for Civilization IV . Since then he has worked as a composer, orchestra and sound designer at  Firaxis Games  and  Stardock .
