A total of around 1300 students are taught by 112 teachers.

The first foreign language is English. From the sixth grade ( G9 ) onwards, French or Latin are added as a second foreign language , while in the ninth grade, Latin and Spanish as well as computer science and other working groups are offered as elective subjects . In addition, there is a ski sport leisure time in the eighth grade.

School sports club

The SSC Bad Vilbel is the school sports club of the Georg-Büchner-Gymnasium and was founded in 1991 by the teachers at the time, Axel Süßkoch and Karl-Peter Troitzsch. As part of the School and Association program created by the Hessian state government, the SSC works together with all Bad Vilbel primary schools. It is also the e-team base of the Hessian Volleyball Association for young women and therefore one of the largest youth sports clubs in Hesse. The Krawumm circus group that emerged from the SSC is now also performing in other cities and districts. The SSC had a department attached to it until 2017, in which the Korean martial art Hapkido was taught.
