Georg Altrogge

Georg Altrogge (* 1961 or 1962) is a German journalist. Most recently he was editor-in-chief of the Meedia online editorial team .

Life

Altrogge graduated from the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Hagen in 1981. He studied German and psychology at the Universities of Bonn and Hamburg with a degree in psychology.

From 1989 to 1991 he completed a traineeship at the Hamburger Morgenpost , where he was then a court reporter until 1993, and from 1993 to 1995 local manager and editor-in-chief for reportage. From 1996 to 1998 Altrogge was an author at Spiegel TV , until June 1999 chief reporter at the Bild newspaper.

In 2000 he became an advisor to the editor-in-chief of the German magazine Tomorrow , from 2001 to 2005 he was editor-in-chief there. In 2006 he became deputy editor-in-chief at the Schwäbische Zeitung , and in 2007 editor-in-chief medien2.0 development department.

From 2007 to 2013 Altrogge built up the online industry service Meedia as the founding editor-in-chief, in which he was also involved as a minority shareholder. In 2013 he worked for Gruner + Jahr . In September 2013 he switched to the Handelsblatt publishing group . Altrogge was the managing director of Meedia GmbH & Co. KG and publisher of the magazine “ Vertriebswirtschaft” . After taking over from publisher Timo Busch in 2019, Altrogge left Meedia with an unknown destination.
