Georg Böhm (politician, 1918)

Georg Böhm (born December 6, 1918 in Neusiedl am See ; † June 9, 1992 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and transport company. Böhm was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1964 to 1977 .

Böhm attended elementary and secondary school in Neusiedl am See and then worked in his father's vehicle company. He served in the Austrian Armed Forces in 1937 and was accepted into the Wehrmacht in 1938 . In 1945 he became an American prisoner of war. After the end of the Second World War, Böhm founded his own transport company and from 1955 was also a petrol station and service operator. In 1962 he was appointed to the Council of Commerce.

Böhm was active as a specialist group leader and deputy chairman of the transport section of the Burgenland Chamber of Commerce. Between 1961 and 1985 he was chairman of the transport section. He was also a local councilor and city councilor in Neusiedl am See, district chairman of the Austrian Economic Association and deputy country chairman. He represented the ÖVP from May 26, 1964 to October 27, 1977 in the Burgenland Landtag.
