Georg Blößner
Georg Blößner (born September 8, 1859 in Burkardsreuth near Eschenbach in the Upper Palatinate ; † January 22, 1950 in Amberg ) was a German Catholic clergyman and local researcher.
Career
Blößner received his education at the Benedictine high school in Metten and was ordained a priest in Regensburg in 1884. There he initially worked as a religion teacher and pastor. In 1889 he came to the parish church of St. Martin in Amberg as a preacher . At the same time he taught at the Amberg grammar school as a religion professor. From 1894 to 1926 he was director of the study seminar in Amberg.
In addition to his professional activity, he published numerous articles on the history of the city of Amberg and the central and northern Upper Palatinate. He headed the Amberg Historical Society for 40 years.
