Georg Bleyer
Georg Bleyer (born October 28, 1647 Tiefurt near Weimar , † after 1683 in Brabant) was a German composer and poet .
Life
Bleyer was a student at the St. Thomas School in Leipzig until 1664 . He then studied with Adam Drese at the University of Jena and from 1666 at the University of Leipzig . Further studies followed in Vienna, Rome and Dresden. He became Count of Schwarzburg Chamber Clerk. His applications for the positions of Kapellmeister in Rudolstadt and Leipzig (as Thomaskantor ) were unsuccessful. In 1672 he was crowned imperial poet . In 1678 he moved to Darmstadt.
