Georg Breitwieser (born March 20, 1890 in Langstadt near Dieburg , † October 13, 1938 in Darmstadt ) was a German landscape and still life painter.

Breitwieser initially trained as a glass painter. From 1908 to 1910 Georg Breitwieser studied in the teaching ateliers of the Darmstadt artists' colony Mathildenhöhe with Adolf Beyer and Friedrich Wilhelm Kleukens .

Breitenwieser spent the period from 1910 to 1921 in Berlin . From 1910 to 1914 and from 1919 to 1921 he studied at the art school of the Kunstgewerbemuseum under Emil Doepler and Emil Rudolf Weiß .

After 1921 Georg Breitwieser returned to Darmstadt , where he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist. His works showed the influence of the New Objectivity .

Georg Breitwieser became a member of the Darmstadt Secession and the Darmstadt Group, which also included Carl Gunschmann , Paul Thesing , Kay H. Nebel , Ewald Dülberg and Alexander Prosch.

In the 1930s, Georg Breitwieser illustrated the annual Heimatfreund calendar with woodcuts.
