Georg Du Bois

Georg Du Bois (born January 15, 1874 in Le Locle ; † 1947 ) was a Swiss manager in the German metallurgical and chemical industry .

Life

Georg Du Bois came to Germany to study. First he studied mining at the Bergakademie Freiberg . There he became a member of the Corps Teutonia . As a mining engineer, he went to the University of Rostock in 1902 , where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. After completing his studies, he became a member of the board of directors of the Deutsche Gold- und Silber-Scheideanstalt formerly Roessler AG in 1905 , to which he belonged until 1932.

Du Bois was a member of the supervisory board of Metallbank und Metallurgische Gesellschaft AG from 1922 and of Metallgesellschaft AG from 1927 . He was also chairman of the supervisory board of Chemische Fabrik Wesseling AG and was a member of the supervisory boards of Holzverkohlungsindustrie AG in Konstanz, the Bank für Keramische Industrie AG and the Allgemeine Revisions- und Verwaltungs-AG in Frankfurt. He lived in Frankfurt am Main , where he was the Swiss consul .
