Georg Friedrich Louis Thomas
Georg Friedrich Louis Thomas (born January 22, 1838 in Möckern (Leipzig) , † February 24, 1907 in Freiburg im Breisgau ), also Ludwig Thomas , was a German medic.
Life
Thomas attended the Thomas School in Leipzig until 1855 . From 1855 to 1860 he studied medicine at the University of Leipzig . He earned a doctorate in 1860 for Dr. med. with the dissertation Nonnulla de albuminuria and qualified as a professor in internal medicine in 1864.
He was a private lecturer and associate professor for internal medicine in Leipzig. From 1867 to 1907 he was a full professor of medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg .
In 1860 he became an assistant doctor at the Surgical Clinic of the University of Rostock and in 1861 at the Leipzig University Hospital . From 1865 he was director of the district polyclinic in Leipzig and from 1867 the polyclinic Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1887 he founded the Hilda Children's Hospital there.
He was a Privy Councilor and a member of the Freiburg Citizens' Committee .
