Georg Haslauer of Haslau

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Haslauer von Haslau , also Georg von Haßlau (er) , Herr auf Thierbach (* around 1595; buried December 18, 1661 in Neudek ) was a Bohemian nobleman and Freihof owner.

Life

Georg Haslauer von Haslauer came from the old Bohemian, originally Austrian noble family of Haslauer von Haslau . Since the rule of the Barons Colonna von Fels over Neudek in the early 17th century, he has appeared as lord of the Edelhof Thierbach near Neudek. In order not to lose his property, he converted to Catholicism during the Thirty Years' War . So in 1637 he had given Count Hermann Czernin von Chudenitz the promise that he was only hindered by the illness of his wife and children, but that he was now ready to convert to the Catholic faith. The Haslauers were thus one of the old families who were wealthy in the Elbogen district even after 1650 . According to legend, there was a deep hostility to the neighboring landowner Jörg Hutzelmann Wolfshof on Tiefenloh and Oedt. In order to conclude peace, they both donated a chapel between their estates, later known as the Lohwasserkapelle . Haslauer died in 1661 and was buried next to his wife in the church of St. Martin in Neudek. After his death, the family in Thierbach was no longer wealthy. Presumably the old noble residence fell back to the Neudek rule and was converted into a farm .

coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a curved tip, the coloring is divided into red and silver alternating with the other color. The crest is crowned and shows the golden bundle of an ear of corn. The helmet covers are red and silver.
