The Elbogen district ( Loketský kraj ) was an administrative district in the northwest of the Kingdom of Bohemia with its seat in the castle or city of Elbogen ( Czech : Loket ).

It existed from the 14th century until 1848 and was the westernmost Bohemian district. From 1714 to 1751 the Elbogen district was temporarily added to the east adjoining Saatz district ( Žatecký kraj ) with its seat in Saaz ( Žatec ). In 1849 it was reorganized as the Egerer Kreis with its seat in Eger ( Cheb ). With the administrative reforms after 1848, the districts functioned only as a supervisory authority and were replaced in 1867 by the more delicate system of political districts (see list of districts in Bohemia ).

Count Schlick (main lines were those of Elbogen , Falkenau and Schlackenwerth ) owned almost all of the Elbogen district and a large part of the Saatzer district. So there was a Schlicksche Land united in the most important interests; it was almost independent of the Bohemian crown .

The district included Abertham , Pencil Town , Gottesgab , Graslitz , Joachimsthal , Karlsbad , Königsberg an der Eger , Kulm , Lichtenstadt , Beschau , Schlackenwerth , Schlaggenwald , Schönbach , Schönfeld .

Head of the district at the beginning of the 16th century was Wilhelm Pergler von Perglas , master of cockroaches . The royal regional judge Nikolaus Stolz von Simsdorf was district chief at the beginning of the 17th century.
