Georg Johann von Glasenapp
Georg Johann von Glasenapp , in Russia Gregori Iwanowitsch Glazenap (* 1749 , † March 10, 1810 in Omsk ) was a Russian officer .
Georg Johann von Glasenapp came from the Livonia- based line of the Glasenapp family . He was General en Chief of the Imperial Russian Army and Governor of Western Siberia.
On July 14, 1764, he joined the 3rd Grenadier Regiment (on horseback). After three months of training, he was promoted to cornet, and on September 18, 1765, he held the rank of lieutenant. He was Rittmeister on September 24, 1776 and on August 29, 1784 he was Seconde Major and was appointed Premier Major on September 19, 1789. On October 9, 1792, he was a lieutenant colonel. On March 21, 1797 he was in the Leib-Kürassier-Regiment, of which he became chief on February 19, 1799. He becomes colonel and commander on July 15, 1798 and on October 18, 1798 he is major general. In addition to Russian, he spoke German, French and Polish. His son Alexander von Glasenapp (1793 to around 1876) was a Russian lieutenant general.
