Georg Kühling

Georg Kühling (born November 18, 1886 in Rechterfeld ; † March 26, 1963 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( center , later CDU ).

Kühling attended the Realgymnasium in Delmenhorst and then did his military service in Darmstadt. He later studied law and agriculture in Bonn. He then worked on his father's farm until he was deployed in the First World War . In the first battle in the Carpathian Mountains he was shot through the lung. In early 1915 he was taken prisoner by Russia. Via Siberia, Japan and America, he returned to Rechterfeld on July 14, 1920 after more than five years as the last war veteran from his home town. In the following years he joined some peasant organizations and was a member of the Center Party until 1933. During the Nazi era, he was arrested during the cross fight .

In 1933, Kühling belonged to the Oldenburg State Parliament . From May 23, 1946 to November 6, 1946 he was a member of the Appointed Oldenburg State Parliament and then from December 9, 1946 to March 28, 1947 of the Appointed Lower Saxony State Parliament . He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1953. He was a directly elected member of the Vechta - Cloppenburg constituency .
