The church village of Rechterfeld , with around 1150 inhabitants, is the largest peasantry in the municipality of Visbek in terms of population and its easternmost district. Rechterfeld is located in the Lower Saxony district of Vechta , in the traditionally agricultural Oldenburger Münsterland .

history

According to Pagenstert, there was a farm in Rechterfeld ( Rahtravelda ) around 890, which Abbot Gerbert Castus had left to the Werden monastery , but which was devastated a few years later. Other medieval mentions of the village are Rehresfelde (1209) and Rechtervelt (1250).

Education and culture

In Rechterfeld there is a primary school and a Catholic church, St. Antonius , which belongs to the parish of St. Vitus in Visbek. The church building, built in the neo-Gothic style from 1901, offers a seat to 350 worshipers.

As part of the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Landkreis Vechta , Rechterfeld is connected to public transport in the direction of Visbek , Vechta and Goldenstedt by bus lines from Moobilplus Vechta ( moobil + ) .

Rechterfeld is a stop on the Delmenhorst – Hesepe railway line , which is operated by the RB 58 Osnabrück - Bremen (operator: NordWestBahn ) with hourly train connections. The Vechta and Wildeshausen stops can also be reached on this line.

The Cloppenburg junction of the A1 federal motorway for the Bremen / Hamburg and Osnabrück / Münster directions is about 13 kilometers west of Rechterfeld. The federal motorway 29 for the direction of Oldenburg can also be reached via this connection .

Peter Kossen (* 1968) was permanent representative of the official for the Lower Saxony part of the diocese of Münster, the official district of Oldenburg , from 2011 to 2016 . He became known nationwide for his commitment, especially in the official district, to contract workers .
