Location of Hogenbögen in Lower Saxony |
Hogenbögen is a peasantry in the east of the municipality Visbek in South Oldenburg region district of Vechta in Lower Saxony .
geography
Hogenbögen is located on the district road K 247 from Visbek to Rechterfeld , which crosses the northern part of the farming community. While the actual village of Hogenbögen is located south of the county road, the associated hamlet Varnhusen is located southwest of the village center. Between Hogenbögen and Varnhusen, the loess- loam-shaped lowland stream Twillbäke (also called Schaarenbäke) flows through the nature reserve " Bäken der Endeler and Holzhauser Heide " in a northerly direction.
history
Around the year 1000, the Benedictine Abbey of Corvey had, in addition to extensive farms in Hogenbögen, four farmers who were subject to interest. The Curia Vronehusen (Varnhusen) emerged from Salland around 1200 , and the Abbot von Corvey referred to its slope . Before the Thirty Years War , Hogenbögen was called Südbögen , in contrast to the hamlet of Nordbögen / Nordbaginny , which is about three kilometers downstream - also located on the Twillbäke - today Siedenbögen . The peasantry was mentioned in the 11th century as Baginni , Baginne or Bagine . In 1485 the simple form of arches was still in use; 1495 arches , 1651 Hogen arches . The meaning of the basic word -inni is unknown.
Attractions
Many old and well-preserved, partly timber-framed historic rural buildings under old wood determine the village character of Hogenbögen.
The threshing tower , in which the Göpel is housed, was chosen as a symbol in the local coat of arms of Hogenbögen , which, pulled by horses, drove the threshing machine in the hall of the farmhouse. The local coat of arms with the threshing tower as a symbol of the peasantry also adorns the chain of office of the Mayor of Visbek. On the occasion of the 1175th anniversary of Visbek in 1994, a miniature threshing tower was built by the Hogenbögen village community.
The old bakery on Heinrich Bruns' farm in Hogenbögen dates from the 18th century. It is fully functional again after the restoration in 1978. Because of the risk of fire, the bakery is not right next to the house. For this reason, it also has a roof made of clay tiles and not straw. The oven still delivers bread today.
Management of the peasantry
District chairman of Hogenbögen is Clemens Meyer jun. (As of February 5, 2020).
