Location of Wöstendöllen in Lower Saxony

Wöstendöllen is a peasantry and part of the municipality of Visbek in the southern Oldenburg district of Vechta in Lower Saxony and is located about 3.5 km southeast of the Visbek town center. To the northeast of Wöstendöllen, the loess-loam-shaped lowland stream Twillbäke rises near Bonrechtern , which, following a curve in a southerly direction, flows through the forest of Herrenholz , Wöstendöllen northwards.

Medieval documents name the peasantry as Astulini (11th Jd.), Ostolone (1218), Hostulne (1275), Hestulen (approx. 1278). The meaning of these older forms is Ostdöllen . The village was apparently first mentioned as Wöstendöllen in 1431.

As a symbol of the village, Wöstendöllen has a small wooden windmill in its coat of arms.

Management of the peasantry

Wöstendöller district chairman is Mario Honkomp (as of February 13, 2020).
