Georg Karl Franz Tuengel (also: Tüngel ) (born February 19, 1816 in Hamburg ; † May 19, 1873 ibid) was the chief physician at the St. Georg General Hospital in Hamburg.

Karl Tuengel completed his studies in Hamburg and Göttingen . His doctoral thesis was entitled “De carcinomate venarum”. After his studies he settled in Hamburg and in 1857 succeeded Gustav Bülau (1799-1857) as chief physician. He held the position until his retirement in 1870 (1869?). His successor was Gotthard Bülau (1835–1900), son of Tuengel's predecessor.

In Hamburg on the Ohlsdorf cemetery on the collective grave memorial plate Allg. St. Georg Hospital of the Althamburg Memorial Cemetery reminds of Georg Karl Franz Tuengel, among others.
