Georg Keuschnigg

Georg Keuschnigg (born November 12, 1954 in St. Johann in Tirol ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and was a member of the Austrian National Council and Federal Council .

Life

In 1975 Georg Keuschnigg began working in the editorial office of the farmers 'newspaper of the Tyrolean Farmers' Union , where he took over as editor-in-chief in 1989. In the same year he also took over the position of director of the Tyrolean Farmers' Union , which he held until 2005. At the same time he was the managing director of Prologo advertising agency from 1991-2005. From 2006 to 2007 he was the regional manager of the Tyrolean People's Party . Since January 2008 he has been the publishing director and since 2011 managing director of the Österreichische Bauernzeitung .

From 2002 to 2006 he was a member of the National Council for the Austrian People's Party as a representative of the Tyrolean electoral district . In 2002 he received 2,916 preferential votes in the National Council election and was one of the top 10 candidates for election. After the state elections in 2008, he was sent to the Federal Council, of which he was President in the second half of 2012.

After leaving the Federal Council, he moved to the Institute for Federalism, where he is responsible for politics and communication.

Georg Keuschnigg is married and has three children.
