Georg Lang (politician)
Georg Lang (born May 10, 1913 in Pösing ; † June 1, 1965 in Munich ) was a German CSU politician .
Life and work
After graduating from secondary school in Cham and completing an apprenticeship, Lang worked as a commercial clerk in Munich from 1931 to 1939 , interrupted by the Reich Labor Service in 1934/35. He then took part in the Second World War as a soldier and became a prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1946.
After his return to Munich, he joined the office of the local city administration. In 1956 he became honorary president of the "Christian Work Communities in Southern Germany".
Political party
Lang had been a member of the CSU since 1946. In 1949 he became the local chairman for Kirchtrudering . From 1956 he was deputy state chairman of the Christian-Social Workers' Union in Bavaria .
MP
Lang was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 until his death. He represented the constituency of Munich-East in parliament.
Awards
He was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit on May 14, 1965.
