Georg Liljeberg

Georg Liljeberg (born January 15, 1905 in Berlin ; † November 25, 1993 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Liljeberg did an apprenticeship as a tailor , which he then practiced. From 1919 he was a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ), then also with the SPD and the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . In 1929 he became an employee in the municipal service of the city of Berlin. He worked at GASAG from 1933.

After the Second World War in 1945, Liljeberg was one of the co-founders of the SPD Berlin-Tempelhof . In the following year he became a member of the Tempelhof District Assembly . In 1947 he also co-founded the Independent Trade Union Opposition (UGO). Since that time he has worked in the Tempelhof district office. When he was elected to the House of Representatives in 1954 , he was given a mandate that he held until 1971.

In 1975 Liljeberg received the title of " City Elder of Berlin " for his services .
