Georg Ludwig Gmelin

Georg Ludwig Gmelin (born December 17, 1687 in Stuttgart (?); † August 4, 1756 in Tuttlingen ) was a German Protestant clergyman .

Life

Georg Ludwig Gmelin was probably born in Stuttgart on December 17, 1687, the son of the physician Johann Georg Gmelin . He obtained the degree of Magister in 1706 and worked as a repetitionist from 1710 . Called field preacher the following year , he went to Marbach am Neckar as a deacon in 1714 . He was hired as a senior helper in Ludwigsburg in 1719, and four years later he went to Herrenberg to work as a special superintendent . As such, he moved to Tuttlingen in 1737 . He held the office of intendant there until his death on August 4, 1756.

Gmelin married Eva Gottliebin Heller on August 28, 1714 in Stuttgart. They had eleven children together.
