Georg Ludwig II of Erbach-Schönberg

Georg Ludwig II. Count of Erbach-Schönberg (born January 27, 1723 in Schönberg , † February 11, 1777 in Plön ) was a ruling count from the house of Erbach-Schönberg and a knight of the Russian Alexander Nevsky Order .

Life

His parents were Count Georg August zu Erbach-Schönberg (1691–1758) and his wife Countess Ferdinande Henriette zu Stolberg-Gedern (1699–1750).

He spent his youth in Schönberg and in 1739 was trained at the Kloster Berge educational institution , then in 1742 he moved to the University of Halle . After graduating, he made several major trips to Holland and France . When his father died in 1758, he returned to Erbach as the ruling count.

He married Princess Friederike Sophie Charlotte of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg on November 11, 1764 in Plön (* November 18, 1736 - January 4, 1769), a daughter of Duke Friedrich Karl of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön . The marriage resulted in a daughter who was stillborn on November 22, 1766. The countess died with the second child.

The count did not remarry and died on February 11, 1777 in Plön. His body was transferred to Gronau and buried in the family crypt.
