Georg Mayer-Franken (born March 15, 1870 in Forchheim , † March 18, 1926 in Munich ) was a German portrait, still life and landscape painter.

Since 1885, thanks to the Johann Martin von Wagner Foundation, he studied at the Munich School of Applied Arts. From April 30, 1887 he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Ludwig von Löfftz and Johann Caspar Herterich . Thanks to other scholarships, he was able to spend three months in Venice in 1891 and three years in Rome from 1896 to 1900. He exhibited his works in the Munich Glass Palace .

Georg Mayer-Franken was a professor at the municipal painting school in Munich from 1905 to 1926.

He added the suffix "Franconia" to his family name Mayer. The artist had bought a house on Schleissheimer Strasse in Munich. He donated a foundation to help needy students in his hometown of Forchheim.

Thanks to his wife Ernestine Lebert, the foundation remained active even after the painter's death and is still active today. The proceeds from the sale of the house from the estate were added to the foundation's capital. The Georg-Mayer-Franken-Lebert-Stiftung supports students from Forchheim. The scholarship is open to students of all disciplines.
