The Isanotski Strait is an 8 km long strait in southwestern Alaska . It connects the Gulf of Alaska with the Bering Sea and separates the Alaska Peninsula from Unimak Island , the easternmost island of the Aleutian Islands .

False Pass is located at the northwestern end of the strait .
